I am a Physics graduate from Istanbul Technical University, where I also completed a minor in Theoretical Mathematics. Currently, I am pursuing my master’s degree at Boğaziçi University, with a focus on mathematical physics and differential geometry. My current efforts are specifically directed towards 3D Gravity, Black Strings, and SUSY and SUGRA theories there. I maintain a strong interest in all things gravity-related. I worked as a research assistant for a year in Yıldız Technical University (2025-2026) and now I am a research assistant at Boğaziçi University.
I live to learn more mathematics and find joy whenever I see its actual applications in physics. I believe science, especially math and physics, is a collaborative effort. I always try my best to help out along the way, so feel free to contact me. I've probably been there (or even worse).
Besides my courses I am currently independently trying to work through the Mirror Symmetry book. I wanted to first handle and progressed in Becker-Becker-Schwarz, Polchinski, or Nastase's AdS/CFT book, but sadly I am a human keep getting distracted by the next shiny thing I see. I am also somehow in a small circle graduate study group where we are currently covering some Supersymmetric topics from the Mirror Symmetry book.
(ON HIATUS): In the meantime, I am also developing myself in the fields of ML and NLP. I'll try to keep my GitHub updated with any relevant projects I may develop regarding ML. Some of my backlog side-interests are all things quantum, tensor networks, Topos Theory, Locale Theory, and Hyperkahler manifolds I would appreciate any guidance on these topics. Some extra dream study goals are: Variational Bicomplex, Subriemannian geometry, More functional analysis, more in-depth topics of complex analysis and also quaternionic analysis.
I have decided to create a CV of Failures so that, maybe in dire times, it might help keep my perspective in check. I will try to keep it updated. My full name is İsmail Deniz Gün / İsmail Deniz Gün (including this for search engine optimization purposes).
